Our very own editor-in-chief Nina Garcia is already a tastemaker for all things fashion, and now she’s flexing her taste as a hostess, too. Just in time to kick off the holiday season, Garcia paired up with Mrs. Alice to curate two festive—and shoppable—tablescapes for the U.K.-based lifestyle brand.
“I loved creating this tablescape with Mrs. Alice, and I’m thrilled Alice thought of me,” Garcia says. “I have loved this brand for quite some time and have many of her pieces myself, so this was an absolute dream.”
For the uninitiated, Mrs. Alice was founded by Alice Naylor-Leyland in November 2019. It was the first brand of its kind—dedicated solely to tablescaping to offer, “enchanting, elegant tableware to take the hassle out of hosting,” per a press release. Think: linens, plates, centerpieces, and more.
Garcia made her selections from Mrs. Alice’s Alpine collection, which was recently released for the season. The deep green and chocolate brown motif included rattan reindeer, wooden nutcrackers, fuzzy brown bears, pillar candles, and mushroom-printed dishes.
Garcia and Naylor-Leyland celebrated the release last night at Casa Cruz on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, joined by friends such as Martha Stewart, Pat Cleveland, Candace Bushnell, and more. “This holiday collection is the perfect way to ring in the season, and tonight was a grand celebration that started the holidays on the right foot,” Garcia adds.
Attendees from the fashion set included Emilia Wickstead, Jonathan Cohen, Nell Diamond, and Marina Larroudé.
