I’m convinced we all have that one pair of activewear leggings that we prize above the rest. For me, my go-to pair changes on occasion, but for the past three months, the ones I’ve consistently been washing and wearing on repeat are the Old Navy High-Waisted PowerSoft Side-Pocket Leggings ($20-$40, originally $40). Without giving too much away (I’ll save that for my review ahead), they’re absolutely worth the hype they get on the brand’s website. Let’s break down what’s so great about them, shall we?
What I Like About These Leggings
The better question is, “What don’t I like about these leggings?” Shoppers agree: they’re top-notch. Nearly 1,000 reviewers have given them five stars because they are comfortable, stay put during even the most intense workouts, and are squat-proof (you can’t see through them when you bend down). I’m obsessed with them for all of those reasons and more. Another is that they have deep pockets, which are a game changer when I’m on a run, because I can fit my keys in one pocket and my phone in the other. Oh, and they stay dry no matter how intense your sweat session.
What’s Worth Noting
As mentioned, these leggings have exceptionally good reviews, but in a few cases, shoppers found them *too* snug. I personally didn’t have that problem; I ordered my usual size medium and they fit as expected. They are, indeed, pretty tight on the legs, but that’s exactly how I like them when I exercise.
They’re made of 77 percent polyester and 23 percent spandex, a slippery blend that I praise for its ability to keep my thighs from chafing on long runs. That said, though, this texture combo isn’t for everybody; some shoppers prefer a softer feel.
Finally, some people gave them low reviews for being too compressive. For that reason, I wouldn’t recommend these for lounging around the house but solely for high-impact workouts.
Who Are These Leggings Best For?
These leggings are best for those who love the look and feel of a sculpting compression fabric (hi, me).
